No. The installation service covers installation of the FlexPatio pergola only. It does not include foundation preparation, concrete footings or slabs, paving, decking reinforcement, or other structural or site preparation.

Any required foundation or site preparation must be completed separately before the pergola installation. If you’re unsure what your site requires, contact our team and we’ll be happy to help review it.

Your FlexPatio pergola must be installed on a level, stable and structurally suitable foundation.

A concrete base is recommended for the most secure installation. We generally recommend a minimum concrete thickness of 150 mm for proper anchoring.

For the four pergola post locations:

• Height difference of 1 cm or less: the pergola can generally be installed directly.
• Height difference of around 1–3 cm: the area should be levelled using suitable metal shims/plates or cement levelling.
• Height difference greater than 3 cm: proper concrete levelling is required before installation.

Installing a pergola on an uneven surface may cause the structure to sit out of level, which can affect drainage, long-term performance, structural alignment and the installation of side walls or other accessories.

For other surfaces:

• Tiles or pavers: the pergola should be anchored into a suitable concrete slab underneath. If there is no concrete base, concrete footings will be required at the post locations.
• Timber or composite decking: the pergola should not be fixed only to the deck boards. The posts must be secured to a suitable structural support or concrete footings underneath.
• Soil or grass: concrete footings must be prepared at each post location before installation.

Yes. FlexPatio pergolas are designed for straightforward DIY assembly. Most pergolas can be installed by four people in around 2–4 hours, depending on the model, size and site conditions.

We provide a step-by-step installation manual and installation videos to guide you through the process. Optional side walls generally require additional installation time.
